chapter 1   The Big Announcement

It was a beautiful spring day.

Itty Bitty Princess Kitty loved beautiful spring days because they meant the Lollyland Fashion Show was happening soon!

Everyone was waiting eagerly for a special announcement.

“Are you sure you don’t already know the fashion show’s theme?” Chipper Bunny asked Itty.

Itty shook her head. Her parents already knew, of course. After all, they were the King and Queen! But they were also very good at keeping secrets.

“Maybe the theme will be Fantastic Flowers,” Esme Butterfly said. “I’ll wear a hat made of flower petals!”

“But that’s just like last year’s theme, Spring Blooms,” Chipper pointed out.

“I hope it’s Dancing Divas again,” Luna Unicorn said. “That was the best theme. I’ll wear a dress that glitters like a disco ball!”

Itty hoped the theme was something new… and something extra special. Because this year Itty would be walking the runway as the Princess for the very first time.

Just then the crowd burst into applause. Itty watched as her parents stepped onto a platform.

The residents of Lollyland loved their King and Queen… and their Princess, of course.

A royal announcement fairy fluttered around the Queen’s head. He blew his tiny trumpet.

The Queen held up a paw to quiet the applause.

“Here is the reveal you’ve all been waiting for,” she said. “The theme for this year’s fashion show is…”

At that moment the King sprang forward.

“Royal for a Day!” he shouted.

Luna was so thrilled, a huge pouf of glitter shot out of her horn. Esme twirled around in circles, and Chipper danced around in the glitter shower.

  But Itty just stood there.

Royal for a Day? What was special about that? Itty was royal every day.

And what was she going to wear?
