Superflat NB is a creative placemaking, mural art project dedicated to beautifying New Bedford, Massachusetts. Its aim is to create inclusive environments where anybody can experience great art. Through the traditions of mural-making, Superflat NB directly engages with New Bedford’s residents and local, national, and international artists to conceptualize and create transformative public art with the goal of fostering pride and ownership of shared spaces. Serving young people is central to Superflat NB’s efforts. The group wants to inspire them and be inspired by them, creating new explorations of culture, expanding social networks, and making connections to resources and opportunities.
